Dodson wants new SRA board

The story you had in the INDEX today regarding ANGRY BUSINESSES CONFRONT SRA are asking the SRA board to do what we have been trying to get them to do for years.

When we had money to start addressing the problem and asked all businesses and citizens to help by calling the Governor and Sen. Long’s office to let them know we wanted something done, none of these businesses would help. They are right, something needs to be done now. The SRA refused to do the project and sent the money back to the state. there will never be nothing done until pressure is put on Sen. Long to appoint new members to this board. The board via Executive Director Jim Pratt states that they do not have the money to address the problem. Yes, the lake has lost income due to the low water level, but they are selling water every day out of the lake and want to sell more. The voters missed a chance to correct the problem and now we are stuck with the same people calling the shots. We can still demand both the Gov. and Sen. Long to change the board adn put people who care about this lake on the board. This will only happen with a lot of phone calls and work. It starts with Sen. Long. Get on the phone and let him know we want a change now at the same time burn the phones up at the Governor’s office and make sure he knows what we want and need.

I have asked for help before but not enough people cared to make the phone calls. I have sold everything I owned around the lake, but still care about what happens to it and I, for one, will continue to try and get something done.

Please, fi you care about this lake make these calls. Replace this board with people that care. We need these businesses and out of town income that it brings home. I can not do this alone. I need help. When Linda Curtis-Sparks was our director we had good parks from one end of this lake to the other. The lake was her baby, not just a job and if we are to keep this lake that is the type of people we need to run this board.

Everyone who is willing to get together and go to Baton Rouge and demand that something is done call me at 318-796-3463 and I will get the time set up. I would like this to get front page just like the article in today’s paper got. I will be waiting on the calls, if you will not get behind this and get something done then don’t complain.
