Lawson Lee Frisby was born to Dan and Daphney Frisby on Sept. 5, 1915 in Gravelridge, Ark.
He was a veteran of World War II and long-time farmer in the Louisiana and Arkansas region. He also loved to hunt and was an avid fisherman.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dan and Daphney Frisby; five brothers, James Martin Frisby, Charles Parnell, Howard Parnell, Harry Parnell and Andrew Parnell; four sisters, Clara Bell Woods, Lillie Bell, Lula Bell and Mary June; wife, Othel Lee Fitch Frisby; two sons, Walter James Frisby and Donald Lee Frisby; daughter, Lois Laverne (Nancy) Frisby; grandson, Raymond Alan Smith; and daughter-in-law, Sarah Frances Frisby.
He and his wife, Othel, had 14 children. He is survived by 11 of his children: Vertia Mae Smith and husband, Travis, of Many; Robert Lee Frisby and wife, Myrtle, of Many; Mary Freeman of Many; Linda Robbins of Bonia; Earlene Herring and husband, Dale, of Jones; Gary Frisby and wife, Debbie, of Bonita; Lamar Frisby and wife, Sharla, of Dermott, Ark.; Linda Dianne Barthol and husband, I.V. Barthol, Jr., of Bastrop; Shirley West and husband, Owens, of Jones; Delois Pannell and husband, Roger, of New Albany, Miss.; and Sharon Mayo and husband, Bobby, of Jones.
Mr. Frisby and his wife also had 35 grandchildren, 68 great-grandchildren, and 21 great-great-grandchildren.
Over the course of his life, Mr. Frisby made many long-time friends and touched many hearts. He was a loving husband and father who will be greatly missed by all.
Services were held on Aug. 30 at the Golden Funeral Home Chapel. Interment followed at the LaArk Cemetery in Jones.
Serving as pallbearers were his grandsons Bobby Frisby, Jamie Frisby, Kenneth Frisby, Chad Frisby, Charles Kennedy and Dennis Frisby. Serving as honorary pallbearers were grandsons Marty Frisby, Dusty Frisby, Christopher Barthol, Michael Sepulvado, Ricky Jackson and Chris Rucker.
