The first Many Tiger Club meeting of the season was filled with Tiger spirit and hopeful enthusiasm for the 2010 - 2011 football season. The Tuesday, Aug. 24 meeting took place at 12 p.m. in the boardroom of Peoples State Bank Many West. As coaches and club members filled the room high school and college football, were the topics of conversation.
After a brief welcome from Big Star’s John Curtis, a Tiger Club member, Many Junior High football Coach Ricky Wriborg started the meeting off by giving updates on the his MJHS Tigers. With 53 players out this season, it is the biggest Wriborg has seen in his years at Many Jr. High. The first of four home games is scheduled for Sept. 7.
MHS Tiger Coach Jess Curtis gave detailed insight to this year’s season, players and coaches. He is very pleased with the valuable coaching staff the team has this year and the enthusiasm of the players.
“We have a great staff,” stated Curtis “Most people don’t realize that we have the numbers and great coaches.”
With 62 players this season, Curtis and the coaching staff have been paying close attention to players and making changes on the field to best suit the team. With several opposing teams eager to take vengeance on the Tigers, the coaching staff remains positive and focused to make this season successful for the team and its faithful fans.
Closing the meeting, Many Tiger Club President Pete Abington thanked the coaches and other members for being present. Last year the Tiger Club had 29 members.
