Hello friends and neighbors, letting you know what we have been up to at TRRC. Sunday we had our monthly birthday party for the residents with a birthday in July. Our party was sponsored by Bayou Scie Methodist Church. We enjoyed cakes and ice cream and afterwards their choir sang gospel songs with us.
On Monday morning Beth Wagener came with her clarinet and played some beautiful music for us. In the afternoon we had our exercise and Bingo.
On Tuesday morning First Baptist and The Knot Brothers came by to play music. They brought a special guest, Mr. Knippers. We hope he comes back again. That afternoon there was plenty of watermelon (red and yellow) donated to us by some very generous people. The residents really did enjoy them and greatly appreciated them.
The Rev. Steve was with us on Wednesday morning. He brought a message from the Bible and some glorious gospel singing. That afternoon we were all ready for a good time with horse races. They all have their favorite horses.
Thursday morning we got in a little exercise with basketball roll. We really had fun with it. That afternoon we were ready to play our favorite game, Bingo.
Friday was our “What’s Cooking” day. So to keep cool we made an ice cream cake. That morning we put our ice cream out to soften, while we crunched chocolate cookies and placed them in a pan and covered them with ice cream. That afternoon we took it out of the freezer, cut it into squares and enjoyed. It made it taste better because we made it.
Come by and visit with us. You can join in on some of our activities and have a good time.
