Dear fellow patriots,
The Clinton years and their paranoia over what they thought free thinking patriotic Americans might do to them launched a campaign to vilify the term “militia”. The argument about what constitutes a “militia” continues among the uneducated.
Looking back we learned Machiavelli may have been one of the earliest philosophers to define the term. In his mind and in the minds of some political thinkers of sound character, most especially including found father George Mason, the militia must have three basic characteristics:
--It must consist of all the people, not members of any one caste, class, occupation or profession.
--It must be under local, not central, control.
--Its members must be required to keep and maintain their arms in their homes.
That puts it very well, except possibly those airheads who discount anything ever put forward by “dead white males”.
We embrace the merits and wisdom of history, which in this case teaches us our quest for freedom from Britain in the American Revolutionary War began with the “militia”. Common sense teaches us today that the militia is (no, Clinton didn’t make it go away) America’s last line of defense.
We have no problem in understanding why this reality would be bothersome to a Marxist Communist and comforting to free men.
