Garcie announces candidacy for Dist. 6 School Board

Donald Garcie has announced his candidacy for Sabine Parish School Board, District 6, which serves the Ebarb School district.

He is a life-long resident of Ebarb, graduating from Ebarb School in 1979. Since graduation, Garcie has been an active part of Ebarb School, and contends that he will be a positive influence on the betterment of the school system by keeping an open door policy to parents as well as educators, while ensuring that key decisions made are with the students’ best interests in mind.

Garcie currently serves as Constable for Dist. 3, Wards 5 and 8, a position he has held since 1996. He has also been an Ebarb bus driver since 1995.

He is married to the former Amy Martinez, and has been for 16 years. They are the parents of two daughters, Amber, a Northwestern State University student, and Lauren, an Ebarb sophomore.

“I feel that I have the ability to serve the citizens of my community by being fair and open-minded to change,” he said. “I ask for your support and will appreciate your vote on Oct. 2.”
