Two Many men and one juvenile were arrested following an investigation into nine mailbox bashings in the Cedar Grove/Rocky Mount area, according to the Sabine Parish Sheriff’s Dept.
The damages to the mailboxes were reported on July 25 by area residents.
Arrested on July 26 were Ethan Barnard and Christopher Nelson. Both were charged with criminal damage to property over $500.
A juvenile was also charged and sent to Ware Youth Center in Coushatta.
According to the Detective Division of the Sabine Parish Sheriff’s Dept., the trio bashed over 30 mailboxes with a baseball bat between 11 p.m. and 3 p.m. beginning on Saturday night, July 24. Mailboxes belonging to Holly Grove Church and Cedar Grove Church were among those damaged.
An anonymous tipster was able to provide information leading to the arrests.
All three of the young men confessed, according to detectives.
