Jean Lee Stivender, 71, of Many died on July 27, 2010, at Dubuis Hospital of Shreveport. She was born Oct. 7, 1938, in Bon Wier, Texas, and was retired from Marathon Oil.
Services will be held on July 30 at 2 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home in Newton, Texas, with burial to follow at Davis Cemetery in the Fawil community near Newton, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Melissa Ann Pickett; parents, John Henry and Lennie Louise Stivender; sisters, Johnie Fay Tomidajewicz, Betty Cofty and Edna Evelyn Stivender; brother, Walter Wendell Stivender; and one infant sibling.
She is survived by one son, Donald Ray Whittle and wife, Gaylynn, of Many; brothers, Earl Ray Stivender of Newton, Texas, and George Stivender of Bon Wier, Texas; sisters, Willie Mae Lynch of Newton, Texas, and Mary Jane Eldridge of Vienna, Ohio; grandchildren, Derrick Ray Whittle, Erin Wilson and Jeremy Porche; great-grandchildren, Ali Jacie Wilson, Deacon Riley Whittle and Dawson Ryder Whittle; and 24 nieces and nephews.
