Raymond Taft Slaughter

Raymond Taft Slaughter, 73, died on Friday, July 23, 2010, at his Florien home.

He was born Nov. 16, 1936, in Milam, Texas.

Services were held on July 25 at Gum Springs Baptist Church with Bro. Doug Hilton and the Revs. James Hickman and Chad Rhodes officiating. Burial followed at Gum Springs Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Lucy Ellzey Slaughter of Florien; son, Keith Slaughter and wife, Tammy, of Hornbeck; daughters, Tena I. Funderburk and husband, Dave, of Coldwater, Miss.; Rita E. Slaughter of Florien, and Joyce M. Airhart and husband, Johnny, of Hornbeck; brother, Louis Slaughter and wife, Sharon, of Florien; sisters, Eula Mae Killian of Many and Janis Killian and husband, Jim, of Hornbeck; 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
