Pilgrim Rest holds VBS

Over 50 children and youth attended this years VBS each night at Pilgrim Rest Church.
The replicated steam locomotive owned by Rayburn and Lorrie Griffith offered an “all aboard” experience for VBS participants.

Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church completed this years’ VBS/TBS with an awesome display of hearts being touched by God. This year’s theme was Lifeway’s “Saddle Ridge Ranch” with its western decor. The motto “Need answers?. Ask God” was taken from James 1:5.

Something new was added for the teenagers called TBS (Teen Bible School). Teens stepped up to a next level in VBS that was centered on Bible study especially designed for their age group.

Pastor C.M. Kelly’s wife, Elizabeth, was this years’ VBS/TBS Director (Trail Boss). She says that children and youth need to hear the truth from God’s Word and that the answers of life can be found by simply asking God. Participants learned that God really cares for everyone and that we are special because he made us (Psalm 139:14).

Rayburn and Lorrie Griffith highlighted the VBS/TBS with their replicated steam locomotive that is sized “just right” to give everyone rides each evening. It was an “all aboard” express for VBS/TBS this year.

There were over 50 children and youth in attendance each night. The commencement service was held on Friday evening. An invitation to accept Jesus as personal Savior was given and five teenagers were saved. They were baptized on Sunday morning giving evidence that VBS/TBS is worth the effort for churches to do each year. Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church praises God for His saving grace.
