Bill Ligon won the Many Bass Clubs’ July tournament with a five-fish limit weighing 14.31 lbs. Fishing the night segment of the tournament, Ligon’s catch came using soft plastic in 18 - 22 feet of water south of Pendleton Bridge.
Jimmy Campbell was the second place finisher with a five-fish limit weighing 13.80 lbs. and Jim Campbell placed third with a five-fish limit weighing 12.52 lbs. Frank Davis claimed the Big Bass honors with a 5.50 lb lunker.
Many Bass Club’s Top Ten 2010 Standings are Harvey Coward, 81.19; Jim Campbell, 80.31; Boyd Sanders, 72.30; Bobby Munlin, 67.39; Bob Self, 65.47; Mike Smith, 62.21; Richard Pesson, 55.34; Tim Braud, 47.18; Frank Davis, 45.05; and Tim Oxley with 43.55.
A total of 53 fish were caught weighing 129 lbs. for an average fish weight of 2.4 lbs.
The Many Bass Club acknowledges the passing of Jim Evans. A lifelong advocate of bass fishing, he and the members of the Bayou Bassmaster Bass Club were the backbone of the annual Louisiana Top-Six Tournament and its charities. The Many Bass Club members extend their sympathy to his family and friends.
