Florien FFA to hold fundraiser

The Florien FFA Chapter will be representing Louisiana in three National FFA competitions at the upcoming 83rd National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Ind.

Florien FFA Advisor, Amy Green, nine FFA members, and a number of chaperones have been preparing for the upcoming contests. The trip and contest preparation is costly and the FFA members are inviting all of Sabine parish to assist with the fundraising efforts of the FFA members.

The Florien FFA Floriculture team and Agriscience Fair teams will be hosting a charburger plate lunch on Friday, July 16. The plates will be sold on the vacant lot between Wal-Mart and Big Star in Many. The meal will consist of a charburger, chips, and dessert, and the cost is $6 per plate. Deliveries will be made to businesses with large orders. The plates will be available from 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. Anyone interested can reserve a plate by contacting Pam Pearce at (318) 256-9007 or Jan Arthur at (318) 315-2225.

All proceeds from this fundraiser will assist with travel and training expenses for the Florien teams. This is the first time in several years that Florien had three teams competing on the National level at one time. This is a remarkable accomplishment for these students.
