4-H Spring Fling winners announced

Kristen Hippler from Negreet, won state with her dairy poster.  First place beef and dairy posters are sent to Baton Rouge.

Spring Fling, formerly known as 4-H Achievement Day, was held on April 22 at the Sabine Parish Fairgrounds. In order to attend Spring Fling, 4-H’ers had to turn in a 4-H record book. All the clubs in the parish were represented and it was a fun, educational day.

In the Senior Song and Yell Contest Pleasant Hill took first place with Negreet coming in second, followed by Ebarb in third. Pleasant Hill also took home first in the Elementary catagory. Florien came n second and Ebarb placed third.

For the talent competion Florien placed first with Pleasant Hill placing second in the Senior Category. The Elementary category was won by Negreet. Placing second was Florien, followed by Pleasant Hill in third; Zwolle, fourth; Converse, fifth and Many in sixth place.

Penny King and Queen was announced for both Elementary and Senior categories. Ty Leone placed first in the Elementary category as Penny King. Klein Pearce came in second and Brandon Early placed third. Alexandria Bradley was crowed Penny Queen for the Elementary category. Followed by Caitlyn Corley in second and Kylee Rawls in third. Lincoln Pearce was crowned Penny Queen in the Senior Category.

In the Junior Division Rylea Sepulvado placed first followed by Nicole Torres in second; and third Colton Remedies. Kristen Hippler placed first in the Senior Division and Ashley Rivers came in second.

Winners for the Dairy Poster contest were, in the Elementary Division first place went to Alexandra Rivers; second Nicole Malmay; and third to Konner Parrie In the Junior Division Rylea Sepulvado placed first and second place was awarded to Jamie Williams. Kristen Hippler took home first place in the Senior Division.

The current lake level for Toledo Bend reservoir is 164.25 The top of the power pool is 172 ft.msl and bottom of the power pool is 168 ft. msl.
