The presence of the Roy Procell family at ballparks around Sabine Parish has been a familiar one for many years. The past three generations of Procell men have made the game of baseball a tradition in their family. On April 1 a new member was welcomed to the clan, Slade Nickolas. Slade is the fourth generation of Procell men and many wonder if he will be ready for wee-tee in three years. Wonder who his coach will be?

Great-Grandpoppa, Roy, played minor league ball in the late fifties and coached his son, Steve, throughout his Dixie Youth years. Steve, know known as Grandpa, was a standout on the Many Tiger team in the late seventies. Keeping with the family tradition he coached his son, Nick, during his Dixie Youth years, winning several district titles and taking teams to state numerous times.

New daddy, Nick, was also a member of the Many Tiger baseball and football teams, where he earned numerous awards, including All-District, All-State, and MVP. His biggest fan is his two-month-old son, Slade, who has already visited the ball park to watch his daddy play.
