Meshell named 2010 Logger’s Queen

Alanah-Lynn Alexandra Meshell, the 17-year-old daughter of David Meshell and Connie and Randy Byrd, has been named the 2010 Zwolle Logger’s and Forestry Festival Queen.

She is a junior at Many High School, where she participates in a number of activities including serving as Junior Class President, Leo President, FBLA Secretary, FFA Historian, Student Council Secretary, and is a member of Beta and FCA. She is also employed at the Doctor’s Lab in Pleasant Hill.

In her spare time, Meshell enjoys riding four-wheelers and being around anything that has a motor. One of her favorite things to do is show off her father’s Orange Blossom Special truck in parades.

Following graduation she will be enrolling in the master welder’s program at Tulsa Welding School in Tulsa, Okla., and plans to eventually attend the University of Louisiana - Monroe to pursue a career in Anesthesiology.

Her paternal grandparents are Georgia Castillo and the late Joseph Castillo. She is the youngest of eight children, including brothers David Jr., Keith, Morgan, Jonathan, and Chris, and sisters, Laurie-Anne and Jenny Lowe. She is also a special aunt to 17 nieces and nephews.

Coming from a logging heritage that began with her grandfather and continues with her father and brothers, Meshell is honored and excited to represent the Zwolle Logger’s and Forestry Festival as their 2010 Queen. Being a logger’s daughter, she seems a perfect fit to represent the community and its way of life.
