Progress Church to celebrate 100 years

Progress Cumberland Presbyterian Church will celebrate its 100th year of ministry on April 24-25.

The church family sincerely hopes all who have been associated with the church throughout the years, or loved their singings, will attend.

On April 24 at 6 p.m., they will hold a congregational singing.

The next day, the host pastor and worship leader will be former pastor, the Rev. Jerry L. Lawson.

His son, Jonathan Luke Lawson, who was born while his parents were pastoring, will preach. He is currently attending seminary and will soon move into full-time service.

Following the worship service, the congregation will share a “dinner of the ground.” All are encouraged to bring a covered dish or two, and join them.

The Lord has been gracious and faithful in blessing Progress Church with 100 continuous years in his service, the church said in a released statement. All are welcome to come and celebrate His goodness.

The church is located at 722 Gewin Lane in Pleasant Hill.
