Dear Editor,
A few weeks back I placed an ad in The Sabine Index wishing our boy, Salem, much success at Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show. Just a few weeks after that our daughter woke me up and told me she had rescued a dog. I have done rescue on a large scale for the past 20 years and preached to our children the importance of rescue.
She did what she had been taught, putting up flyers, talking with all local vets. The dog was found downtown with a collar on. She is someone’s dog. She has low level heart worms, many of her teeth need to be pulled. I have exhausted all of my dog contacts, and have been talking with St. Louis Senior Dog Rescue and I told them I would pay for any of her treatment if we could find her a foster home. We pinch pennies so we can pay a handler for Salem. It is a conscious choice on our part as it was a conscious choice to throw this sweet girl way like trash. Shame on you.
We would like to thank Larry Kelly and Dr. Bob for their support and guidance.
