Sabine 4-H Commodity Cookery Contest winners announced

Winners of the Pecan Cookery Contest were, left, Konner Parrie, Rylea Sepulvado, Gage Lites, Taylor English and Alex Bradley.

Sabine Parish 4-Hers gathered at the 4-H Office on Monday, Feb. 15 to compete in the Parish Pecan, Seafood and Poultry Contest. Results of the contest are in the Pecan (other) category Taylor English of Negreet Elementary won first place, Konner Parrie of Zwolle Elementary won second place and Rylea Sepulvado of Zwolle Intermediate received third place. In the Pecan (candy) category first place went to Gage Lites of Many Elementary and second place went to Alex Bradley of Belmont Union Christian Academy.
Taylor English of Negreet Elementary placed first in the Beef (quick and easy) category.
In the Egg (Main Dish) category first place was awarded to Lincoln Pearce, Florien Senior; second place, Ryleigh Rutherford, Florien Elementary; and third place went to Navy Britt of Belmont Union Christian Academy. Coming in first place in the Egg (dessert) category was Caroline Matthews of Florien Elementary, second place went to Konner Parrie of Zwolle Elementary and third place went to Alex Bradley of Belmont Union Christian Academy. Egg (appetizer/salad) winner was Kristen Hippler of Negreet High School and coming in second was Colby Matthews of Florien Elementary.
All winners will compete at the Area Contest, which will be held March 16.
